Poet George N. Wallace is a third generation Colorado Native. With his wife, Nancy Wallace and son David, he has owned and operated Soldias Farms in Larimer and Phillips Counties for over 55 years, raising kids, crops, livestock and restoring wildlife habitat. He started writing poetry and essays in his mid-seventies as a natural outgrowth of an interesting and diverse life which also includes university teaching and work with natural resource managers in the US and Latin America. He often writes about the rural West and hopes that some of that might contribute to closing what has been labeled the “rural-urban divide”. Wallace is the author of Township & Range, Fencelines and Enjoying the Work, all published by Fort Collins's Wolverine Press. He is frequently an invited artist at cowboy poetry gatherings, as well as celebrations and conferences related to conservation and agriculture around the West.
